Hudson & Company are always pleased to report a success story.  This one hails from Dawlish Business Park where Hudson & Co are the sole selling and letting agents for Matthews House, a new development of 7 industrial units offering a very pleasing design with ample outside space for parking and loading. Lee Olding, who operated an MOT workshop on an adjoining site, saw an opportunity to set up his own business, and took Unit 7 on a lease. He was the second occupier on this particular scheme, and carried out a programme of alterations to the unit that involved the installation of a second roller shutter loading door, and the creation of a floor recess for a rolling brake tester. To assist with his plans, Lee employed the services of KSA of Tavistock, who advised on the required MOT specification, Lee’s requirements for equipment, and oversaw the consents from VOSA. At the same time Lee had to obtain a specific planning permission from Teignbridge District Council for an MOT station. Undaunted by the bureaucracy and cost, and fuelled by his young enthusiasm, Lee saw the project through to the end, ably steered by the wise Larry Langmead of KSA. The result is a very busy MOT station, trading as Dawlish MOT Centre, licensed to test Class 3, 4, 5 and 7 vehicles, testing cars, motorbikes, light commercial vans, campers and mini-buses. Furthermore we have another unit occupied, and a superb show area which we use to show prospective occupiers how a new unit would look when fully fitted. Of the seven new units at Matthews House, two are now occupied, and two are currently under offer, leaving 3 units available to let or for sale. Dawlish MOT Centre can be contacted on 01626 866722.
